This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of CardMeet's services. It is part of and incorporated into our Terms of Service. We may update this AUP from time to time and will notify you of material changes.

1. Legal Compliance

You must use CardMeet in compliance with all applicable local, state, national, and international laws and regulations. You are solely responsible for ensuring your use of the Service complies with all laws applicable to you.

2. Content Restrictions

You may not upload, post, or transmit any content that:

Is unlawful, fraudulent, or deceptive
Is sexually obscene or exploitative
Is defamatory, threatening, or harassing
Promotes discrimination or hatred
Is violent, gory, or glorifies violence
Infringes intellectual property rights
Contains malware, viruses, or harmful code
Contains personal information of others without consent

3. Prohibited Conduct

You may not use CardMeet to:

Harassment

Send unwanted, repeated, or threatening messages or connection requests to other users.

Impersonation

Create profiles or business cards that misrepresent your identity, company affiliation, or professional role.

Automated Abuse

Use bots, scripts, or automated tools to create accounts, send connection requests, or scrape user data.

Privacy Violations

Collect, store, or share other users' personal information without their explicit consent.

Recording Without Consent

Use the AI Note Taker or any recording feature to capture conversations without the knowledge and consent of all participants, where required by law.

4. Service Integrity

To protect the integrity of CardMeet, you may not:

Attempt to bypass security features, rate limits, or authentication mechanisms
Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service without authorisation
Conduct denial-of-service attacks or overwhelm our infrastructure
Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the application
Exploit bugs or vulnerabilities — report them to security@cardmeet.io instead
Distribute malware through QR codes, NFC tags, or shared links

5. Scraping & Data Collection

Scraping refers to extracting data from CardMeet via automated processes, including bots, crawlers, or scripts.

Scraping is strictly prohibited.

You may not scrape, crawl, or programmatically collect user profiles, contact information, QR codes, or any other data from CardMeet. This includes selling or distributing any data obtained from the Service.

6. Spam Prevention

To maintain a high-quality experience for all users:

No Bulk Messaging

Do not send mass, unsolicited connection requests or meeting invitations.

No Fake Accounts

Each account must represent a real individual. Creating multiple or fake accounts is prohibited.

No Phishing

Do not use CardMeet to distribute phishing links, fake QR codes, or deceptive content designed to steal credentials.

7. Enforcement

Violations of this Acceptable Use Policy may result in:

Warning

A notice to stop the prohibited activity.

Suspension

Temporary restriction of your account.

Termination

Permanent removal of your account and data.

We reserve the right to take enforcement action at our sole discretion. Serious or repeated violations may result in immediate termination without prior notice.

8. Reporting Violations

If you believe a user is violating this policy, please report it to support@cardmeet.io with as much detail as possible. We review all reports and take appropriate action.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Acceptable Use Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via in-app notification or email. Continued use of CardMeet after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
